The Kelpies, Falkirk/ Grangemouth

-

The largest equine sculptures in the world, standing an impressive 30 metres high in the Helix park, the Kelpies are a tribute to Central Scotland’s horse-power heritage.

The artist was inspired by two Clydesdale heavy horses called Duke and Baron, and each structure weighs over 300 tonnes – around the same weight as 300 Clydesdales. According to legend, kelpies are magical water horses said to haunt Scottish lochs, rivers and canals.
