Hamish McHamish, St Andrews

Hamish the fluffy ginger cat is honoured in the golfing town of St Andrews, with a bronze statue erected by his fans.

Although owned by a retired BBC producer who paid his vet bills, Hamish preferred a nomadic life and sought food, warm snoozing spots and the occasional stroke from neighbouring homes and businesses.
