How to make patterns

-

Swirls – Lay fabric out flat. Pinch and twist the centre of the fabric and continue twisting from the centre until it looks like a flat rose shape. Tightly wrap it with about 6 rubber bands overlapping each other in the middle.

Crumpled – Crumple and twist the fabric randomly until it is shaped like a ball. Tie rubber bands around the fabric to split into sections.

Stripes – Fold the fabric up from the bottom in pleats so that it is in a long thin shape. Tie rubber bands in sections along the length of fabric (between 5 and 8 will be needed).

Circles – Choose the areas of your fabric where you want dyed circles to appear. Pinch and pull up these areas and tie a rubber band around them so that the fabric sticks up. Repeat in all areas where you want circles to appear.
