Elton has a mondegreen so famous that it was even included as a joke in “Friends”, when Phoebe thought the singer had written the song for “that guy on ‘Who’s The Boss.’”

Instead of singing, “Hold me close, young Tony Danza”, he sings, “Hold me closer, tiny dancer”.

In another Elton track, “Your Song”, although he “sat on the roof and kicked off the moss”, some people hear, “Sat on the roof, and I kicked at the moths.”
