A Christmas Jumper

- Maggie Ingall.

I need a Christmas jumper. On that my mind is set,

But now that I am looking, I don’t know which to get.

I need it for a party, and though I want to go,

The note said wear a jumper, at which I thought, “Oh, no!” You see, I haven’t got one – my last one grew too small. I can’t attend without one – that wouldn’t do at all.

So now, I’m busy shopping. Whatever shall I buy?

The range is so abundant; bewilderment is high!

I might just pick this snowman – it’s cute, I must admit,

And yet the holly’s jolly – but no, it wouldn’t fit.

A flaming Christmas pudding? A penguin on a slide?

An elf? A star? An angel? I simply can’t decide.

But now I’ve made my mind up! It’s partying I’ll go!

So which one have I chosen? Well, now I’ll let you know: When faced with such profusion, confusion gripped me not, I made a firm decision – I went and bought the lot!
