The People's Friend Special

A Lasting Legacy

-

After Catherine died, papers were found, including an unpublished memoir called “Before I Go”, containing Catherine’s last words to the world.

She tells parts of her story she hadn’t spoken about before, and there are rumours that there was also an unpublished novel amongst the papers.

Transworld are currently republishing and repackaging Catherine’s books, including “The Silent Lady” and a reissue of “The Four Feathers”, coming out this year under the new title of “Her Secret Son”.

They say they’ve proved incredibly popular, and that, “Catherine Cookson’s novels have been a perennial source of enjoyment for her many and devoted readers ever since she was first published.”

Catherine wrote over 100 books, many of which were filmed.

She also wrote books under the name of Catherine Marchant.

Catherine gave away most of her fortune to charities and causes dear to her heart.

The Catherine

Cookson Foundation will go on helping people for a long time to come.
