You Will Need
● White felt measuring 13 cm x 10 cm
● Mid-blue felt measuring 10 cm x 5 cm
● Scraps of felt in dark blue, dark green and pink
● Red print fabric measuring 5 cm x 4 cm
● Yellow print fabric measuring 5 cm x 4 cm
● Double-sided fusible interfacing measuring 5 cm x 4 cm
● Fabric glue (optional)
● Navy blue, white, pale blue and pink stranded embroidery thread
● One cream button,
2 cm in diameter
● 30 cm length of fine string or twine for hanging
● Small amount of toy filling

TO MAKE
Using the templates provided, cut one Back and one Upper Front from white felt and one Lower Front in mid-blue felt. Cut one Window in yellow fabric, one Curtains in red print fabric, and one Curtains in double-sided fusible interfacing.
From scraps of felt, cut three small triangles for bunting flags in dark blue and green, and three circles measuring 6 mm in diameter in pink. Use one strand of stranded cotton and back stitch unless otherwise stated. You may find it easier to add a little glue to the back of the flowers and bunting before stitching in place.
Window

1. Fuse one side of the interfacing to the back of the fabric curtains following manufacturer’s instructions. Using the paper template, mark and cut along the dotted line to make the curtains.
2. Bond the curtains to the window and stitch along the inner edge with navy blue thread.

4. Position the fabric window and curtain pieces centrally behind the window cut-out and stitch around the edge using two strands of white thread. Add the bunting to one side of the roof, and create a string using navy blue thread. With three strands of pink thread doubled (six strands in all) attach each pink circle to the lower front using French knots (see diagram on page 5). With one strand of thread, make three straight stitches to create the stalks. Sew on button for the wheel using a contrasting thread.
5. Knot the string to create a hanging loop and secure to the inside centre top of the back. Blanket stitch around the outer edge using blue thread, leaving a gap at the base for filling. Add a little filling then blanket stitch the gap closed. ■
3. Place the upper front on the lower front, using the back to check positioning. Pin the upper front in place, making sure to remove the back piece before stitching. Using white thread, stitch along the two bottom edges of the upper front.
