Why Not A Euston to New Street Record?

READING the article about the EustonGlasgow record attempt in the July issue, it would be interesting to see if an Avanti ‘390’ can set a non-stop record between Euston and Birmingham New Street.

Apart from having a clear path, and possible speed restrictions on the section from Rugby to Birmingham New Street, I am sure a time could be set to nearly match the proposed non-stop HS2 route to Birmingham Curzon Street, which is supposed to claim a 40 to 45-minute journey. How close could Avanti get to it?
