…while Helston gains a Peckett

PETER Kennan’s ex-British Sugar Corporation Peckett ‘B3’ 0-6-0ST No. 2000 has taken up residence at Cornwall’s Helston Railway, arriving on June 30. The 1942-built loco replaces the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust’s Peckett ‘R3’ 0-4-0ST Kilmersdon (1788/1929), which had been the mainstay of services on the restored Helston branch between

2018 and 2020. No. 2000 was expected to work the line’s reopening services on July 28.
