Thornhill to be returned to steam?

-

PRIVATELY owned ex-Isle of Man Steam Railway (IoMSR) Beyer Peacock 2-4-0T No. 14 Thornhill has been moved from its long-term location in the north of the Isle of Man and is now at John Fowler Engineering in Bouth, Cumbria. It appears to have been largely stripped, to assess, it is understood, what will be required to return it to steam. Thornhill last worked in 1963 and was sold in 1978, along with Manx Northern Railway carriage No. 6 (later Isle of Man Railway No. 45), which was relocated to IoMSR’s Douglas works last year (RM, November 2020).
