Wirral volunteers help prepare site for reopening
IN anticipation of a date being announced for its reopening, the volunteers from the Wirral Transport Museum and Heritage Tramway are preparing for it to welcome visitors again. It was expected to take a few weeks to get the site ready as trams need to be recommissioned and given full safety tests, checks and test runs. Drivers and conductors also need refresher training. One of the first jobs completed was a visit by a road sweeper to clean the tracks for the first time since 2019.
