Leeds prepares for minor remodelling

IN preparation for remodelling of the approaches to platforms 4-6 at Leeds station later in the year, over the weekend of October 30/31, work took place to prepare a new track crossover and install new overhead wires. Ducting under the track for signalling cables was also installed.

The remodelling will help to increase capacity, but also reduce the impact at times of unplanned disruption. The project will be completed early in 2022.

Platforms 4-5 are often used by Bradford, Skipton, Ilkley electric services, Knaresborough or Carlisle services, while a number of LNER trains use platform 6.
