LAST month’s teaser (right) by Ben Adlington shows part of the narrow gauge railway at the Defence Training Estate in Strensall, near York, with the targets to the right and bullet stoppers to the left. The line runs from Range Control to the butts of five of the six ranges on the site, each having a short siding. A number of flatbed wagons, pushed by the soldiers, are provided to move equipment around.
