Boring machine Dorothy named

THE first tunnel boring machine on the northern section of HS2 Phase One has been named Dorothy after Dorothy Hodgkin, the first British woman to win the Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

Music producer and rail enthusiast Pete Waterman unveiled the name at the Long Itchington Wood Tunnel site in Warwickshire on October 20.
