ROMAN STATUES FIND:
Separated parts of rare Roman statues, including a female head (pictured) and torso and male head with torso, will be cleaned and examined after being discovered by archaeologists working on the HS2 project, during excavation at the site of the old St Mary’s Norman church in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire. Also found were a sculpture of a child’s head, a glass Roman jug, roof tiles, painted wall plaster and Roman cremation urns.
