DISUSED BRIDGE DEMOLISHED:
The decommissioned Heartlands Parkway bridge at Saltley, near Birmingham, was removed in October. Crossing the existing Birmingham to Derby line, it stood in the path of the HS2 route to the new Curzon Street station. With the structure demolished, attention has turned to the construction of a kilometre-long retained cutting for the high speed rail line.
