After hard graft, Queen Mary rides again!

VOLUNTEERS at the Gloucester­shire Warwickshi­re Steam Railway’s Carriage & Wagon Department were delighted to see their hard work pay off when 1936-built SR Queen Mary bogie brake van No. S56305 (pictured) returned to traffic in time for the line’s 40th anniversar­y Mary brake van rides raised in excess of £1000, providing a welcome boost for the railway. Volunteers at the Winchcombe-based department have now turned their attention to 1939-built GWR Toad brake van No. 17392, which last ran in 2017. gala (see story opposite).
