Return to steam in sight for Teifi Valley Railway’s Sgt Murphy

-

THE frames of the Teifi Valley Railway’s Kerr, Stuart 0-6-2T Sgt Murphy were rewheeled in mid-October and the loco now has a fully overhauled rolling chassis. The boiler, overhauled some years ago, will need to be retested. Sgt Murphy last ran in July 2013. The West Wales line has been without steam since the boiler certificate of Hunslet 0-4-0ST Alan George expired on November 28, 2017. Known to require firebox work, it remains stored at Henllan.
