THE East Anglian Railway Museum, Chappel & Wakes

Colne station, Essex, has added Class 317 driving vehicle DTSO(B) No. 77092 to its collection. This comes from four-car unit

No. 317345.

The vehicle, in Greater Anglia livery, has been acquired thanks to the generous support of Angel Trains, following its withdrawal from service earlier this year.

Role

It will be used as a static display vehicle fitted-out to tell the story of the Class 317s, electrification in East Anglia, and the science behind electric trains. The arrival is timely as a new exhibition hall is being constructed which will show the story of more than 50 years of Eastern Region suburban services on the West Anglia routes from London, Liverpool Street.
