Cross Country modifications completed

A SIX-MONTH programme to carry out £1.4 million of modifications to the entire Cross Country Class 170 fleet has been completed by Arriva Traincare at Bristol Barton Hill depot.

The work on the 29 Porterbrook-owned units included the installation of digital equipment allowing maintenance teams to remotely monitor vehicle conditions. The fleet was also given heavy C8 overhauls.

Transport for Wales Class 170s will now go through their C8 exams at Barton Hill, the first having arrived in mid-October.
