RENAMING HONOURS NURSING:
1916-built Hudswell Clarke No. 1206 (previously Illingworth) was renamed Nightingale and Seacole (one nameplate per side) at Embsay on April 22. Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale were two of the world’s most famous nurses, remembered for their work in the Crimean War. Trevor Sterling, chair of the Mary Seacole Trust is pictured unveiling Seacole, while Professor Greta Westwood of the Florence Nightingale Foundation unveiled Nightingale, and tribute was paid to the current generation of nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare support workers.
