EAST COAST YANKEES:

Filming took place at King’s Cross on March 29, for a new film called ‘The Boys in the Boat’, a true-life story about the University of Washington’s rowing team and their attempt to take part in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Platform 8 at King’s Cross was transformed into the USA for the day, allowing hired-in steam loco No. 6233 Duchess of Sutherland to make a rare line-up at the London terminus with LNER ‘Azuma’ No. 800201 (below). The film is being directed by Hollywood A-lister George Clooney, who is pictured (left) with No. 6233.
