POPLAR PROGRESS:

The boiler of Kent & East Sussex Railway (KESR) based LBSCR ‘Terrier’ 0-6-0T No. 70 Poplar (No. 3 Bodiam) was reunited with the frames at the Weybourne Works of North Norfolk Railway Engineering on April 14. Painting of the loco is to be carried out at the KESR’s Rolvenden works. As reported last issue, the weekend of June 2-5 is set to see two ‘Terriers’ in action on the KESR for the first time in many years when No. 70 will perform alongside sister No. 2678 as part of the ‘Best of British’ celebrations over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
