Coastal trip for red Ivatt

BR Ivatt ‘2MT’ 2-6-2T No. 41241 made a rare appearance away from Keighley & Worth Valley Railway metals as guest loco at the North Norfolk Railway’s April 1-3 Spring Steam Gala.

Graham Hukins, NNR commercial manager told The RM: “We welcomed 1714 visitors over the three days – up on 1294 at the 2019 gala, the last equivalent event.

“The Ivatt proved popular with crews, photographers, enthusiasts and families – perhaps helped by its eyecatching livery. Similarly, the mixed train was a talking point as again, it was something different.”

No. 41241 awaits its next turn of duty in the headshunt at Weybourne with the vintage stock on April 1.
