Tunnel locos to Steeple Grange

-

TWO rare 18in gauge exTunnequip Ltd (of Horsham, Sussex) battery-hydraulic locos have arrived at the Steeple Grange Light Railway (SGLR). One has been purchased, the other being donated to the line. They became available when SGLR member Ian Ashby retired from running a horticultural business near Evesham where he had laid 2ft and 18in gauge tracks known as the Valley Nurseries Railway. A quantity of track and two wagons have also arrived at the SGLR.

The diminutive locos are understood to date from around 1980 and were designed to operate in very confined spaces. They were purchased by Ian Ashby in March 2009.
