Controller rewiring for ex-London tram

EAST Anglia Transport Museum’s English Electric-built London County Council tram No. 1858 has been receiving workshop attention.

Following the rewiring of one of its controllers before Christmas, work to rewire the other took place during March. The double-decker, which dates from 1930, has received new brake shoes and its axle horn ways have been given a complete overhaul. Cosmetic repairs have been made to its platform ends.
