‘Grid’ to leave Ruddington

A new home is being sought for privately owned Class 56 No. 56097, which has been at the Nottingham Heritage Railway (formerly GCRN) for many years. The railway is not currently operational and when it does reopen, it will not require a loco of this size and power.

The Type 5 is in full working order and the owners are considering two options. One is to find an alternative railway where the loco could be based and used on occasions. The other is to find a new owner to take the loco on, together with a large collection of spare parts.
