£2m being spent on graffiti removal

-

NETWORK Rail is to spend £2m on cleaning up graffiti eyesores along Britain’s railways, ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Regional Network Rail teams have identified problem areas and used additional funding which has been made available to remove and paint over stubborn spray-painted tags, also applying anti-graffiti paint where possible to deter people from targeting the same areas in future. More than 450 sites have been cleared of graffiti in the south east, including high-profile sites such as the Hungerford Bridge, the Bermondsey diveunder and approaches to Birmingham New Street.
