WESTSIDE STORY:

The early hours of April 5 saw the first tram movements along Broad Street in Birmingham as testing of the second phase of the West Midlands Metro Westside Extension got underway. A CAF ‘Urbos 3’ tram is seen about to enter Five Ways underpass. Public services are due to begin in June. Tram services on the existing network were suspended for the third time in less than a year on March 19 to allow for the replacement of vehicle body panels after cracks were discovered.
