Battery loco considerations

NEXUS has confirmed to The RM that it plans to review the feasibility of refurbishing its three Hunslet-built battery electric locomotives which are used on the Tyne & Wear Metro system, in order to extend their expected design life.

The locos, purchased in the 1980s have become less reliable and more difficult to maintain due to parts now being obsolete.
