Blackpool trams return to Talbot Road

THE evening of March 16 saw a tram turn under its own power onto Talbot Road in Blackpool for the first time since the 1960s, as testing began on the new stretch of line connecting the current tram system with Blackpool North station.

A new terminus is being built on the former Wilko store site. Blackpool Transport says the £23 million extension should open to passengers in late 2022 or early 2023.
