More Japanesebuilt EMUs for the Philippines
TWO Japanese companies (Sumitomo Corp and Japan Transport Engineering) have been awarded a contract for 38 more eight-car EMUs for the 163km long new standard gauge North-South Commuter Railway being built in Manila. Both companies also won the 2019 order for the first 13 eightcar trains to operate services on the initial 53km section of the route which is due to open in 2023.
