Winter wonderland …in April

FOLLOWING the completion of its overhaul at the Meiningen Railway Works, ex-Deutsche Reichsbahn Pacific No. 01 1519-6 (Henschel 22929/June 1936) was used for a special train between Eisenach and Meiningen on April 2. Despite the Spring date, the weather was very cold, with fresh snow. The loco is seen climbing towards the tunnel at Förtha, south of Eisenach.
