Danish tank steams ahead at Nene Valley

TESTING and running in of newly overhauled Danish 0-6-0T No. 656 continues at the Nene Valley Railway. In the presence of a boiler inspector, the loco passed its in steam boiler test on September 27. No. 656 made its inaugural visit to Peterborough Nene Valley station on October 20 – the line having yet to open to the city centre when the loco was last in traffic. The loco benefitted from the attention of a sign writer at Wansford wokshops on October 5.
