John Cronin has died

SAD news from the Diesel & Electric Preservation Group on the West Somerset Railway, is the death of John Cronin on October 4, aged 80, after a long illness.

He succeeded Bob Tiller as chairman in 2009 and soon made his mark on the group, retiring from the post in 2017. He joined following retirement from BR where he was manager of Bristol Bath Road TMD until its closure in 1995. He was well known in the railway industry.
