TRIPLE HEADER IN THE FOREST:
The Dean Forest Railway held its annual diesel gala on September 17-18. As in previous years, this proved to be a popular event, not because of a large quantity of visiting locos, but a few, well-chosen ones. The last train of the day on September 17, the 17.40 Lydney Juntion to Parkend, returning as the 18.30 to Norchard High Level. Seen on the outward run passing through Whitecroft towards Lydney Junction are the two visitors – ROG/Europhoenix Class 37 No. 37901 Mirrlees Pioneer and Suburban Preservation’s Class 31 No. 31130 with resident Class 14 ‘Teddy Bear’ No. D9521.
