-

Visiting the Epping Ongar Railway from the Mid-Norfolk Railway for its September 17-18 autumn diesel gala was Class 14 ‘Teddy Bear’ No. D9520. For this occasion, it was renumbered D9540 as seen approaching North Weald station on the first day with the 12.08 Epping Forest to Ongar service. The original No. D9540, withdrawn by BR in 1968, was sold to the National Coal Board (NCB). It worked at several NCB locations until withdrawn in late 1983 and broken up at Ashington Colliery, County Durham in January 1984.
