Friday charter cancelled

WITHIN days of announcing it would run the Friday evening loco-hauled charter train from Euston to Manchester Piccadilly until December 9, the LS Group cancelled its plans after Avanti West Coast (AWC) announced it was increasing the number of services to Manchester and Birmingham short-term, with a further increase from December. The electric-hauled LSL trains had run from CreweEuston, Euston-BirminghamManchester Piccadilly to provide extra capacity after AWC was struggling with staffing issues and cut back the number of trains operated.
