Further digital signalling tests on Northern City line

ANOTHER session of testing on the digital ETCS (European Train Control System) which is being installed between Finsbury Park and Moorgate occurred on October 9. It will be part of the digital system which is to be installed on the East Coast Main Line over 106 miles between King’s Cross and Stoke Tunnel, (Grantham,) and provides in-cab signalling and control for trains. Network Rail expects driver training to begin in early 2023 and soon afterwards the first passenger services on the Northern City Line will be digitally signalled.
