Inverness airport line closure

-

CONSTRUCTION of a new £14m station at Inverness Airport continues to make progress and between October 14-26 the line between Inverness and Elgin was closed to allow a key part of the project to take place.

Engineering teams have installed the passing loop through the station, enhanced adjacent sections of track and opened a new pedestrian bridge which will permit the closure of the level crossing at Petty.

Work started on the station in October 2021 and is due to be completed and open this December.

The station will have 64 car parking spaces, including 10 for electric vehicles and four disabled parking spaces – plus cycle storage.
