Model show’s return

After three years of cancellati­ons due to the Covid pandemic, the popular Warley model railway show returns to the NEC later this month.

ONE of Britain’s biggest and best model shows returns this month after dropping from the calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Warley National Model Railway Exhibition will be held over the weekend of November 26/27and opens to the public on both days at 9.45am, closing at 6pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday. Advance tickets are available that allow entry 30 minutes earlier.

Highlights this year include: More than 80 working model railways; layouts in gauges Z to I covered, plus a few bigger gauges; a demonstrat­ion by Carol

Flavell from Series 2 of the Channel 5 TV programme The Great Model Railway Challenge; prototype exhibits; and in excess of 130 traders including giants such as Hornby, Bachmann and Rails of Sheffield.

Advance ticket prices are £18 for one day admission or £33 for both days. Junior tickets for ages up to and including 16 years old are £1 a day, with under 5s able to get in for free.

There will be plenty of car parking available at the NEC, but venue charges apply. Advance parking is discounted and can be booked from now up to midnight before the exhibition day. Please note, outside of the exhibition hall, the NEC is a cashless arena.
