Smoke Box revival

LONDON-BASED transport book shop The Smoke Box has been revived from the ashes. Books are available to browse seven days a week on stall F2B at Antiques of Kingston, 29 Old London Road, Kingston upon Thames, KT2 6ND. The material, which mostly relates to the south of England, is primarily railways but also includes buses, trams and shipping. The original incarnation of The Smoke Box was run by Mike Higson, a former Lostock Hall fireman. Following his retirement, the stock was acquired by book dealer Nick Howell – some of the items now being once again available for sale near the original location of The Smoke Box.
