Drones used to tackle trespassing

-

BRITISH Transport Police and Network Rail have now started to use drones to locate trespassers. With an apparent rise in trespass incidents, the drones are equipped with a highquality zoom and thermal imaging to speed up the process of finding the offender, thereby minimising the impact on services. Last year (April 2021-April 2022), there were 1105 incidents, which resulted in 48,702 delays at a cost of £3.5 million. So far this year, there have been 572 trespass incidents, resulting in 21,021 delay minutes at a cost of £1.1 million to the industry.
