Hitachi wins Milan deal

MILAN metro operator ATM has awarded Hitachi Rail Italy a contract to build 46 new metro EMUs. The €368 million framework contract covers all 46 six-car aluminium-bodied trains; the first firm order is for 21 trains for use on Line M1 from 2024. This initial contract is worth €168 million.
