Get the right gal to play Galadriel
I HAD heard that Amazon’s new fantasy extravaganza, The Rings of Power, was a bit hit-and-miss but even I could not have anticipated a turkey with quite so many overcooked trimmings. The best (worst) is Morfydd Clark, left, as Galadriel.
Don’t get me wrong, she looks the part – and I’m sure she’s very talented.
But for some reason she plays the role like some psychotic school prefect, a cross between Hermione Granger at her most smug and Arya Stark in Game Of Thrones. I’m all for female empowerment, but Galadriel is supposed to be a symbol of Elfin nobility – not up to her elbows in
Orc blood.
