Last Night Of The Proms

BBC2, 7.10pm & BBC1, 9pm

-

After 83 concerts over the course of eight weeks, it all comes down to this – the traditional musical celebration that brings the entire triumphant season to a close at the Royal Albert Hall.

After all these years we know how it will end – a rousing rendition of Elgar's Land Of Hope And Glory will be followed by Jerusalem, the National Anthem and, finally, Auld Lang Syne – but there's plenty to enjoy before that too.

Dalia Stasevska conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra in classics by the likes of Wagner, Sibelius and Doreen Carwithen.

They'll be joined on stage by the BBC Symphony Chorus, the BBC Singers, soprano Lise Davidsen and cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason (right).

A must for music lovers everywhere, who'll no doubt be singing along with the crowd as the end credits roll. ★★★★☆
