Beware the Left-wing schools plot
LAST week, The Mail on Sunday highlighted the likely move of Sir Keir Starmer to back scrapping the first-past-the-post voting system this autumn, with a view to effectively keeping the Tories out of power for a generation.
Imagine having your representative in Parliament decided by the kind of voter who thought that voting for the current Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, was a good idea.
Concerning as that prospect is, it should be pointed out that the ground is set for a much more dangerous plan, which will not only encourage both the Liberal Democrats and the SNP to support it, but could effectively leave the Conservatives languishing as an ineffective and possibly irrelevant opposition.
The Left-wing soldiers are now embedded in the education system as our children’s teachers. They see their role as not teaching youngsters how to think, but instead what to think.
What will happen when the proposal, certain to come, to lower the voting age to 16, is put to the weak coalition of government? It surely scares most thinking folk.
