FOREST FLOP AS ANTHONY GIVES CHERRIES A REASON TO CHEER

-

TWO of this season’s newly promoted sides served up a thriller as Bournemouth came from 2-0 down to triumph 3-2 at Nottingham Forest.

Two of Forest’s 21 new arrivals combined for the opener, Cheikhou Kouyate heading in Morgan GibbsWhite’s cross on 33 minutes.

Brennan Johnson put Steve Cooper’s side two goals ahead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time after a lengthy VAR check.

After the break, though, it was all Bournemouth.

Philip Billing gave the Cherries a way back into the match on 50 minutes, firing in from distance, before Dominic Solanke levelled the scores midway through the second half.

Jaidon Anthony (above), a product of the Cherries’ youth system, slotted in a late winner.

Daniel Podence got the only goal of the game as Wolves picked up their first win of the season at home to Southampton.

Newcastle were unlucky to draw 0-0 against Crystal Palace after having a goal ruled out by VAR for a foul on Eagles goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
