Pete’s clean-living son called to the bar

HIS father Pete Doherty found fame as an indie rock star, but son Astile is mixing it with a different crowd. I can reveal that the Libertines singer’s boy, pictured left with his dad in 2008 but now aged 19, is working as a mixologist at a cocktail bar in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend.

Astile, whose half-sister is Liam Gallagher’s daughter Molly, loves working at Leigh Drinks Co. He tells me: ‘I can quite comfortably say I have one of the best jobs in the world.’ Astile’s favourite creation reflects his 43-yearold dad’s tempestuous reputation: A Dark ’n’ Stormy. But clean-living Astile insists his go-to tipple is the bar’s milkbased punch.
