Doctor Who
BBC1, 7.30pm
It was five years ago that Jodie Whittaker (right) made waves across time and space as she took over from Peter Capaldi to become the first female Doctor Who.
Now, it’s the moment to bid farewell to this particular incarnation of our favourite Time Lord, with Ncuti Gatwa already announced as the next to take up the reins. But first comes Whittaker’s last featurelength outing in the Tardis.
A suitably epic and far-reaching storyline takes in strange goings-on with vanishing seismologists, the Russian Imperial court on the eve of revolution, and a bullet train on a far-away planet. And as if that wasn’t enough, look out too for appearances by many of the Time Lord’s most deadly foes, among them Daleks, Cybermen and the Master – as well as a couple of rather more fondly remembered faces from the Doctor’s past. ★★★★★
